THE PROBLEMS
- Coronavirus/Covid-19
- Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs)
- Ventilator Associated Pneumonias (VAPs)
- The Human Costs of Poor Indoor Aire Quality (IAQ)
- Odors
- Energy Losses – Heat Transfer & Air Circulation
COVID-19
COVID-19 is known to be transmitted through the air as a bioaerosol. Conservation Solutions follows recommendations by the American Society of Heating and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Section 2.0, the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, and the Center for Disease Control CDC recommendations to combat the highly infectious COVID-19 virus. According to ASHRAE Section 2.2, the following play a role in HVAC infection control:
- Adequate dilution (by ventilation),
- Air quality (by filtration)
- Exposure time (by air changes)
- Temperature/Humidity
- Organism viability (by ultraviolet treatment – UVC)
- Airflow patterns
COVID-19 and the Steril-Aire UVC Systems Solutions: According to Homeland Security, Steril-Aire UVC Systems have the highest UVC energy intensity of all UVC Systems on the market by a factor of 6 on average. Steril-Aire UVC systems have a proven track record of killing bacteria mold and viruses based on a 2 1/2 year ASHRAE studies
VIRUSES, BACTERIA & MOLDS Viruses, Bacteria & Mold including Coronavirus circulate in buildings and can be transmitted by contact with other humans, contaminated surfaces and recirculating through building HVAC. CONTAMINATED AIR & PARTICLES The American Lung Association warns that almost half of Americans — or 141 million people — are inhaling unsafe air.
HIGH ENERGY USE & POOR AIR CIRCULATION Accumulated biofilm composed of molds, bacteria and viruses on ventilation system coils reduces heat transfer efficiency of air conditioning systems and restricts air flow resulting in increased energy consumption by as much as 35%. Steril-Aire Systems eliminate biofilm and prevent molds, bacteria & viruses from circulating in the building.
ODORS Odors come from restaurants, factories, warehouses, locker rooms, delivery trucks or garbage. Steril-Aire Systems eliminate those odors.
Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs)
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) estimates that Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI) account for an estimated 1.7 million infections and 99,000 associated deaths each year in the US causing needless suffering from infections acquired in hospitals. Have you taken the necessary steps to prevent exposing the patients in your Hospital, Urgent Care Facilities and Nursing Homes from harmful infections? Consider joining the hundreds of hospitals and healthcare facilities that have installed Steril-Aire UVC systems.
Antibiotic Resistance Threats The CDC’s Antibiotic Resistance Threats in the United States, 2019 Report includes the latest national death and infection estimates that underscore the continued threat of antibiotic resistance in the U.S. According to the report, more than 2.8 million antibiotic-resistant infections occur in the U.S. each year, and more than 35,000 people die as a result.
The Human Costs of Poor Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)
(Office Buildings, Universities & Colleges, Schools, Healthcare Facilities, Multifamily Buildings, Municipalities, Research Lab and Industrial Buildings)
- COVID-19
- Sick Building Syndrome
- Workers with chronic migraines & fatigue
- Nausea,
- Difficulty focusing
- Allergies
- Increased absenteeism
- Lower worker, teacher and student performance
